National Galvanising Company (NGC), situated in the bustling Second Industrial City of Dammam, Saudi Arabia, recently reached out to our KSA office with a specific request for an overhead crane to handle heavy loads in their warehouse. They were in the midst of equipping their facility and needed a solution to streamline operations.
Following a comprehensive consultation with our international technical team, NGC gained confidence in our capabilities. With over three decades of expertise in selling and installing overhead cranes across the Middle East, we were well-equipped to meet their needs.
We promptly delivered a complete 5-tonne SWF Blackline Crane Kit, which was air-freighted directly to Dammam to ensure a swift installation. To simplify logistics, the bridge beam was sourced locally. The single girder bridge was assembled and fabricated on-site at one of our partner factories in Saudi Arabia, ensuring the project was completed quickly to meet the customer’s urgent requirements.
The crane system spans 10,500mm and stretches up to 60 meters across the workshop, positioned strategically in the central bay of the storage warehouse. This setup enables efficient handling, loading, and unloading of steel materials, accommodating heights of up to 8 meters using an SWF four-fall wire rope hoist. Safety is paramount, so the crane operates via a radio remote control system, allowing operators to maintain a safe distance from the load—especially useful for oversized items. This eliminates the inconvenience of a wired pendant and gives operators the flexibility to move freely while monitoring the load during movement.
Powering the entire system is a busbar conductor along the full 60-meter length of the workshop, coupled with a caterpillar-type track on the bridge to deliver both power and control signals from the control panel to the hoist and end carriages.
Our technical engineers successfully commissioned the entire crane system within just two days at the Second Industrial City, culminating in a successful load test that confirmed a flawless installation.
