LES PROVIDE 4 SPECIALIST JIB CRANES TO SOUTH KOREA

During the UK lockdown, LES successfully secured a contract to deliver four jib cranes and four Lodestar electric chain hoists to a defense industry client based in South Korea. All the equipment was meticulously manufactured in the UK according to the customer's precise specifications, including a unique shade of green that was particularly important to them.

 

Design and Construction

Given the outdoor nature of the application, the cranes underwent hot-dip galvanization to ensure durability in harsh environmental conditions. The hoists were equipped with weatherproof jackets and IP65-rated pendant controls to prevent water damage. These cranes, with their 500 kg capacity, 5.5-meter height, and 5-meter arm span, offer extensive coverage in their operational area. Additionally, they came with an isolator and electric festoon kits, ensuring seamless power supply to the hoists and eliminating the need for any additional local purchases.

 

Quality Assurance

Before final delivery, the cranes underwent rigorous erection and load testing to guarantee the highest standards of quality and reliability. This step was crucial for providing our customer with complete peace of mind regarding the performance and safety of the equipment.

 

Final Touches

To enhance both the aesthetic appeal and protective qualities of the cranes, a custom green color (BS14C39) semi-gloss powder coating was applied over the galvanized surface. This double layer of protection ensures long-lasting functionality and an attractive finish, perfectly suited for outdoor installations.

 

Logistics and Delivery

Included in our comprehensive service package, LES efficiently organized the loading of the four cranes into a 40-foot shipping container using a telehandler. The equipment was securely fastened with premium ratchet straps from Lashking before sealing the container for its journey across the ocean to Seoul.
