LES PROVIDE 4 SPECIALIST JIB CRANES TO SOUTH KOREA

During the recent UK lockdown, LES successfully secured a contract to deliver four jib cranes and four Lodestar electric chain hoists to a client in the defense industry based in South Korea. These cranes were meticulously designed and crafted right here in the UK to meet the specific needs of the customer, including a unique shade of green that was particularly important to them.

 

Design & Construction

Given the outdoor nature of the client's application, the cranes underwent a hot-dip galvanizing process to ensure durability against harsh environmental conditions. Meanwhile, the hoists were equipped with weather-resistant jackets and IP65-rated pendant controls to prevent water damage. Each crane has a capacity of 500 kg, stands at 5.5 meters tall, and boasts an arm length of 5 meters, providing extensive coverage for various applications.

 

Quality Assurance

Before final delivery, the cranes were fully assembled and load-tested to guarantee top-notch quality and provide peace of mind to our valued customer. This rigorous testing phase ensures that every piece of equipment meets the highest standards of performance and reliability.

 

Final Touches

To complement the galvanized protection, the cranes received a custom semi-gloss powder coating in the shade BS14C39, adding both an aesthetic appeal and an extra layer of protection suitable for outdoor installations. This combination of galvanization and painting results in a visually striking yet highly functional finish.

 

Logistics & Delivery

LES managed the entire logistics process efficiently, arranging the loading of the four cranes into a 40-foot shipping container using a telehandler. The cranes were securely fastened with premium ratchet straps from Lashking before sealing the container. This container is now en route via sea, bound for Seoul, ensuring timely delivery and complete satisfaction for our client.
