How to Choose the Right Wallpaper

Wallpaper is more than just a decorative element—it brings beauty, comfort, and a sense of personal style to any room. As a popular choice for home decoration, it has become a top preference for many homeowners. However, with so many options on the market, it's important to know what to look for when selecting wallpaper. Industry experts recommend that consumers not only focus on aesthetics but also prioritize environmental safety and health.

The main sources of pollution in wallpaper come from two areas. First, some types of wallpaper release harmful substances such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including toluene, xylene, and formaldehyde. For example, PVC-based wallpapers may contain lead, antimony, or vinyl chloride due to their raw materials or manufacturing processes, which can be harmful to human health. Second, the adhesives used to install wallpaper can also contribute to indoor air pollution. These adhesives are often divided into solvent-based and water-based types. To improve their performance, manufacturers may use excessive amounts of VOCs during production, leading to the release of formaldehyde, benzene, or other harmful chemicals during the curing process.

Types of Wallpapers by Material:

1. PVC Plastic Wallpaper: This is one of the most common types available. It uses polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyethylene as the main material. PVC wallpapers are typically categorized into standard, foam, and others. Standard wallpapers have a paper base coated with PVC paste resin, while foam wallpapers are thicker and softer, offering a more textured appearance.

2. Pure Paper Wallpaper: Made from natural wood pulp and sometimes containing up to 10% wood fiber silk, this type offers a clean, elegant look. It is environmentally friendly, odorless, and highly breathable. It’s ideal for children’s rooms and modern homes due to its durability, resistance to static, and easy cleaning properties.

3. Natural Effect Wallpaper: This type mimics natural textures like grass, wood, or leaves. It gives a rustic, organic feel and brings a sense of nature indoors.

4. Wood Fiber Wallpaper: Known for its breathability and eco-friendly qualities, this wallpaper is made from fine wood fibers or polyester powder. It is soft, durable, and allows moisture to pass through, making it ideal for long-term use without causing discomfort. It’s often called "breathing wallpaper" because it doesn’t trap humidity and feels comfortable over time.

5. Metal Wallpaper: This luxurious option features metallic finishes and adds a touch of elegance. Though commonly seen in commercial spaces, it’s also used in modern homes for a bold, avant-garde look.

The Moman wallpaper from Sweden is a great example of eco-conscious design, using natural materials and advanced technology. It is backed by the Swedish PVP pure vegetable gum, ensuring high environmental standards and safe living environments.

How to Identify Real Wood Fiber Wallpaper:

1. Smell Test: Open a new sample and smell it. Real wood fiber wallpaper has a light, natural woody scent with little to no chemical odor. If it smells strong or artificial, it might be PVC.

2. Burn Test: Burn a small piece. Genuine wood fiber burns cleanly with white ash, similar to burning wood. If it produces black smoke or a bad smell, it's likely PVC.

3. Drip Test: Place a few drops of water on the back of the wallpaper. If moisture appears on the front, it shows good breathability—indicative of real wood fiber.

4. Scratch Test: Soak a small part of the wallpaper in water, then gently scratch the surface and back. Real wood fiber wallpaper should not fade or peel easily. The dyes used are natural and not chemically treated.

Check Valve

The check valve is used in the piping system, its main function is to prevent the backflow of the medium, prevent the pump and its driving motor from reversing, as well as the release of the medium in the container.

Check valves can also be used to feed pipes where the pressure may rise to exceed the pressure of the main system. Check valve according to the different material, can be applied to a variety of media pipeline.

The check valve is installed on the pipeline, which becomes one of the fluid components of the complete pipeline. The opening and closing process of the valve disc is affected by the transient flow state of the system in which it is located. In turn, the closing characteristics of the disc have an effect on the fluid flow state.
