China Midland Furniture to Showcase "Fuchun Mountain Residence" at the First China Red Expo

The film "Tianji - Fuchun Mountain Residence," which cost over 100 million yuan and featured a star-studded cast, was a huge success, grossing 290 million at the box office. As a result, the name "Fuchun Mountain Residence" has become widely recognized. From October 9th to 13th, 2013, China Midland Furniture will bring the iconic "Fuchun Mountain Residence" to the first China Red Expo. Could this "National Treasure" spark a new wave of interest in redwood art?

Unlike the movie, the "Fuchun Mountain Residence" by China Midland Furniture is a nine-meter-long mahogany carving. This masterpiece is crafted from a single piece of Burmese rosewood, known for its clear grain, warm color, and fine texture. The carving features scattered blades, lush peaks, pine trees, stones, misty mountains, and thatched cottages. The composition is intricate and ever-changing, creating an endless visual journey. Combined with the unique and deep sandalwood fragrance of Burmese rosewood, the entire piece feels vast, elegant, and timeless.

The work was created by Mr. Zhang Honglin, Chairman of Midland Furniture, and Mr. Hu Champion, a master woodcarver and chief designer. Inspired by the original painting style of the Yuan Dynasty artist Huang Gongwang, it was developed over two years by more than 20 artists, including Midea Furniture artisans, sculptors, senior carpenters, and top painters. It was finally completed in May 2013.

Since its completion, Midland Furniture has been seeking a large and influential platform to showcase "Fuchun Mountain Residence." The China Red Fair, known for its "Red Storm" in the redwood industry, quickly became their partner. There are two main reasons: First, the fair's innovative promotional approach—“One Wall, One Sand Painting, One Song, One Sand Table”—has set a new standard in the industry, giving it a strong cultural identity. "Fuchun Mountain Residence," with its immense cultural value, needs a platform with such a rich atmosphere. Second, the China Red Fair not only promotes nationwide but also launched the “Red Journey – Project Briefing” campaign, spanning across redwood bases throughout China, making it unique in the industry.

The China Red Fair is the largest professional mahogany furniture exhibition in China, covering 35,000 square meters. It brings together the finest works from all genres and regions of Chinese mahogany furniture. Exhibits include mahogany furniture, handicrafts, classical (antique) furniture, five series of Chinese lifestyle supplies (jewelry), materials, and accessories.
