Photovoltaic glass anti-reflection coating can increase solar module efficiency by 2.5%

Glass anti-reflective coating is a new emerging technology in the field of photovoltaics and is currently widely used in glass production. The purpose is to increase the power generation of the module by increasing the transmittance of visible light with a fixed conversion efficiency of the module. The principle of the glass anti-reflection coating is to form a porous silicon oxide film on the glass surface. The volume ratio of the voids is used to adjust the effective refractive index of the thin film to about 1.22 so as to achieve the purpose of broad spectrum wide-angle antireflection.

The glass anti-reflection coating liquid invented by Xi'an Opto-Electronics Co., Ltd. is a kind of nano particle suspension. The nano silicon oxide particles can be ordered on the glass surface by roller coating to form a layer with a thickness of 100-150 nm and a refractive index of 1.22. The thin film significantly reduces the reflectivity in a wide spectral range of 380 to 1100 nm, and increases the visible light transmittance by 2.5% or more, thereby increasing the power generation of the solar module by more than 2.5%.

In addition, this membrane has super-hydrophilicity, which enables the glass to self-clean with rainwater, maintain the surface clean for a long time, reduce dust shielding, and indirectly increase the power generation.

The main component of this coating solution is water-based silicon oxide nanoparticles, which do not contain toxic volatiles and are harmless to the human body. After the film formation, the surface is smooth, with no pattern, and the hardness exceeds 3H, which completely satisfies the conditions for component packaging and outdoor use.
