Introduction of hydraulic lift freight elevator inspection method for hydraulic lift equipment

The hydraulic lifting freight elevator is a specialized type of equipment that requires careful inspection. As a result, it's a key concern for users and operators. According to the "Regulations on the Supervision and Administration of Special Equipment," hoisting machinery includes electromechanical devices used for vertical lifting or combined vertical and horizontal movement of heavy objects. This category covers elevators with a rated load capacity of 0.5 tons or more, cranes with a rated lifting capacity of 1 ton or more and a height of 2 meters or more, as well as electric hoists with a fixed load-bearing structure.

On the market, there are two main types of hydraulic lift freight elevators: scissor-type and rail-type. These elevators typically do not have enclosed cabins but feature simple protective railings and doors. Because of the strict definition of elevators in China, the regulations clearly state that elevators are power-driven machines that move along rigid guides or steps along fixed paths, designed to transport people or goods. This includes cargo elevators, escalators, and moving walkways. The government has strict procedures for the supervision and inspection of elevators. Therefore, the hydraulic freight elevators we're discussing are intended only for carrying goods and not for human passengers.

Scissor-type hydraulic freight elevators with a load capacity over 0.5 tons are considered lifts under the regulations. Before installation, they must be submitted to the local Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau for inspection. During the process, the manufacturer provides documents such as the special equipment production license, installation permit, installation notice, installation plan, sales contract, product delivery certificate, operation and maintenance manual, key parts, and warranty information. After installation, the local bureau conducts an on-site inspection based on national regulations. Only after passing the inspection can the equipment be put into use. Once operational, regular inspections by the local authority are required.

Rail-type hydraulic freight elevators with a load capacity over 0.5 tons are also classified as special equipment, and they must be reported accordingly. However, currently, there are no specific inspection procedures in place for this type of equipment. As a result, many rail-type hydraulic freight elevators available on the market are not subject to formal inspections. With their growing popularity, the government is expected to introduce corresponding regulatory measures soon. Some organizations have already started researching rail-type hydraulic lifts, and it is anticipated that official inspection procedures will be established in the near future.
