The region imported 153,800 meters of textile fabrics, valued at $618,800. This represents an impressive increase of 100.89% in volume and 69.56% in value compared to the previous period. Additionally, there was a year-on-year growth of 13.82% in quantity and 30.81% in value, showing strong momentum in the sector.
The majority of the imported fabrics were cotton printed, dyed, and blended cotton fabrics. Japan remained the primary source of these imports, with 135,200 meters coming from there, making up 87.96% of the total trade volume. In the same month last year, imports from Japan had been 55,100 meters, accounting for 71.99% of the total. This indicates a growing reliance on Japanese textiles in the region.
The main import method is processing trade, where raw materials are brought in for manufacturing. This accounted for 92.29% of the total trade volume. The fabrics are primarily used for producing garments and bedding, which are then exported overseas.
