In the first half of the year, solar-grade polysilicon imports hit a record high

China's General Administration of Customs released data on polysilicon imports in June 2012. According to the data, China's polysilicon imports in June were 6911 tons. In the first half of 2012, solar-grade polysilicon imports totaled 40,946 tons, a year-on-year increase of 34.7%. In the first half of the year, imports from South Korea, the United States, and Germany accounted for 90% of total imports, of which South Korea was 25.7%; the United States was 41.5%; and Germany was 22.2%. In terms of price, the average import price of polysilicon in June 2012 has fallen to 21.16 US dollars / kg.
