As is known to all, in domestic or foreign markets, traditional high-pressure wall bushings, cable terminations, current transformers, etc. of 66Kv and above mostly use oil-filled porcelain bushings. It has some potential problems such as easy leakage, flammable, explosive, dirty flash, large maintenance workload, large volume and heavy quality. As the environment deteriorates, the flashover of the porcelain surface often occurs, and the probability of flashover increases with the degree of environmental pollution. In the past, the method of increasing the leakage ratio was used to solve the problem, but the increase of the leakage ratio was limited. The larger the leakage ratio, the lower the firing rate of the porcelain casing. For this reason, we developed a A new generation of products with new structural design and completely different materials.

The development of dry high-pressure wall bushings, in the early 1990s, with the development of urban network transformation, urban indoor substations developed rapidly, and the demand for wall bushings increased. In the face of the above problems, we must take a unique new way to replace oil-ceramic insulation with organic insulating materials.

In 1990, we developed the first STA-type 9 wall-through casings and operated them at the Dalian Laohutan Substation. Subsequently, more than 200 were operated in the Northeast and Yunnan. However, STA through-wall bushings still have some drawbacks. Since it is made of XLPE cable, both ends need to be supported by post insulators. To this end, we developed the STB high-pressure wall bushing in 1994. Up to now, more than 10,000 STB casings have been operated on the grid, covering more than 20 provinces and municipalities from Hainan to Daqing and from the east coast to Xinjiang.
