China plans to start construction of demonstration plant for floating nuclear power plants by the end of 2016

The ACP100S is a small offshore reactor model independently developed and independently designed by China National Nuclear Corporation. Based on more than 50 years of experience in research and development of offshore small reactors, China Nuclear Power Institute has developed three types of floating reactors including ACP10S, ACP25S and ACP100S, and can combine single and double stacks to achieve 10 MW to 200 MW of power. The scale of the floating nuclear power plant model meets the needs of various users and markets at home and abroad.

Sun Qin said: "China Nuclear Group has 100% intellectual property rights for all reactor types of floating reactors, and domestic and foreign patent layout and intellectual property protection work for related floating nuclear power plant models have also been completed."

At present, ACP100S has obtained 385 patents approved by the National Patent Office, and has signed cooperation agreements with the largest international Lloyd's Register of Shipping and International Atomic Energy Agency, and is carrying out relevant safety assessments of floating nuclear power plants and related regulatory standards.
