In the interview, Wei Liang mentioned that the recognition of face recognition is difficult, the copying is difficult, and the security performance is stronger. Tencent Home: When did Udis start to do smart locks? What is the current sales situation and market share?

Wei Liang: Udis started research and development in 2008 and launched the first product in 2013. Udis products are mainly smart locks for face recognition. We are a high-end differentiated brand, which has developed rapidly in some engineering projects and cooperated with the leaders of various industries. For example, the iconic floor of the flooring industry, their more than 2,000 stores are starting to sell our products. Hanting in the hotel industry also cooperates with us; Vanke, Greenland, Evergrande and Hirota in the real estate industry have cooperated with us, and Hirota is our investor. We have done a good job in the toB market and the growth is very fast. However, because our products are relatively high-end, the people's awareness is not very high, so the market share in the toC is not very high.

Tencent Home: At present, many smart locks on the market are fingerprint recognition. What is the difference between face recognition and fingerprint recognition?

Wei Liang: Our company has been doing smart safety channel since 1994. It should be said that the industry is ahead of the industry, but why didn't we choose to do fingerprint locks at first? The first is because its threshold is too Low, most manufacturers can easily enter, buy a fingerprint module and you can do a fingerprint lock. The quality of the fingerprint locks is mixed, the products are not competitive, and slowly it will be like a price war. The second one is that the fingerprint is a layer of texture on the surface, which is easily copied by people. It is a low-end technology in recognition technology; face recognition is a more advanced technology than fingerprint recognition, and its replication It is difficult, so the security level is higher. Third, fingerprints are often not recognized by people who are elderly or children or whose fingerprints are less obvious. In addition, there is no way to use it in places that are too cold or too humid, so it is not particularly strong. There is no such problem in the face, even if it is all black, as long as a face can be recognized in less than one second, the experience is very good, and will not be copied, the twins can also be distinguished, but the photo, Wax images can't pass, and the security level is very high. At present, in the domestic market, we are the only brand in China that can mass-produce the face recognition lock.

Tencent Home: Why can face recognition be more accurate and secure than fingerprint recognition?

Wei Liang: The main reason lies in the identification technology. Our face recognition algorithm is an algorithm independently developed by our Canadian parent company. The recognition accuracy and recognition speed are the leading in the industry. At present, there is no way to copy it. High security.

Tencent Home: Is there a product of almost the same level in China?

Wei Liang: We don't think so. There may be a face recognition lock that is more common on the market. The function is similar to ours, and the kernel is exactly the same, but the recognition accuracy, speed, experience, appearance and our gap are far. Just in the field of face recognition locks, we are definitely the status of the industry's boss, but this industry is not very big, because the threshold is relatively high.

Tencent Home: In the future, has it always been in the high-end market?

Wei Liang: Our exhibition brought a new product called A3. On the basis of the guarantee function, we have greatly improved the cost performance, and it is estimated that it will be similar to most fingerprint locks. It will cost less than half the price of the mainstream products on the market, and the experience is similar, and it is easy to install. In the past, our face recognition lock was wired, which caused it to involve circuit modification, which is more suitable for the front-loading market. Now it is powered by a lithium battery, and it only needs to be charged once a year, even if it is old. It is also very convenient to install the house. The common people will have a stronger sense of experience and will be very competitive.

We want to make this product high-end. We don't want to define a high-end product. We also hope to make some products with higher cost performance. However, the maturity of face recognition technology may not be so high in the past few years. So big, the whole production causes the product cost to be relatively high, and the price is relatively high. As the technology continues to mature and the quantity continues to increase, the price of the parts of the face recognition itself will also drop significantly.

Tencent Home: There is a saying on the market that smart products are all high in price. Do you agree with this statement?

Wei Liang: This is inevitable, just like a good car or mobile phone is more expensive when it comes out, because its quantity is not that big. The same is true for face recognition, which is normal. Industrialized mass production is the most important way to reduce costs, especially in the smart home industry. Nowadays, the chicken feathers are not uniform, and all kinds of platforms are available. If the standard is not uniform, the output will be small. If the quantity is not large, there will be no way to industrialize production, so the cost will not come down, and the natural price will be higher. I feel that with the continuous development and the constant unification of standards, this price will eventually be intimate with the people. If the price is competitive, there will be a market.

Tencent Home: Standards are not uniform, which is a big problem for many companies. How does Udis solve the compatibility problems between different products?

Wei Liang: We are also a headache now. It can only be based on an intelligent platform, all platforms are compatible, and various protocols are compatible. Because smart locks are part of the smart home platform, it will never become dominant and can only be compatible with other products. Our compatible communication methods are ZigBee, WIFI, cable, etc.

Wei Liang: We have been here every year since 2013.
