Plasma cutting section and flatness problem processing

The plasma arc penetrates the material surface to achieve the cutting effect. Considering the shape of the plasma arc and the material passing through step, the plasma arc often cuts more metal from the lower part of the incision, making the incision end face slightly inclined, and the upper edge is generally square. But sometimes it's slightly round. The problem that may be caused here is the distance between the two cutting surfaces on the upper edge of the cut caused by the cutting beam. In the case where the upper edge of the notch is melted, the distance between the two cutting surfaces under the molten layer is abnormal.
The width of the incision is 1.5 to 2 times wider than that of the oxy-acetylene incision. As the thickness of the incision increases, the incision width also increases. For stainless steel or aluminum with plate thickness less than 25mm, it can be cut with low-current plasma arc. The straightness of the incision is very high. Especially for cutting plates with thickness less than 8mm, small corners can be cut out, even without processing. Direct welding, which is difficult to obtain with high-current plasma arc cutting. This facilitates the irregular curve cutting of the sheet and the cutting of irregular holes.
The flatness of the cut surface refers to the highest and lowest points on the cut surface of the measured part, and the distance between two parallel lines made according to the tilt direction of the cut surface.
A 0.25 to 3.80 mm thick melted layer exists on the surface, but the chemical composition of the cut surface does not change. For example, in the case of cutting an aluminum alloy containing Mg 5%, although there is a 0.25 mm thick molten layer, the composition is unchanged and no oxide is present. If the cutting surface is directly welded, dense welds can also be obtained. When cutting stainless steel, chromium carbide does not precipitate along grain boundaries because the hot zone quickly passes the critical temperature of 649°C. Therefore, cutting stainless steel with a plasma arc does not affect its corrosion resistance.
