Flame-retardant clothing testing equipment and flame-retardant clothing testing method

Flame-retardant clothing flame retardant performance testing is generally used in accordance with the standard GB/T 5455 "textile burning performance test vertical method" vertical method flame tester for testing, this method can be used for flame retardant protective clothing cloth time, smoldering time, Determination of the length of damage.

First, flame-retardant clothing testing equipment 1. Vertical combustion instrument test box rectangular stainless steel box, the size of the box is 329mmX329mmX767mm, the top of the box has 16 evenly arranged exhaust holes with an inner diameter of 12.5mm. To prevent the influence of airflow outside the box, install a top piece 30mm away from the top of the box. There are 6 ventilation holes with an inner diameter of 12.5mm each on the lower part of both sides of the box. The top of the box is equipped with a bracket to hold the specimen holder so that the specimen holder is perpendicular to the front door and is located in the center of the test chamber. The bottom of the specimen holder is located 17mm above the highest point of the igniter nozzle.

2. Igniter: The inner diameter of the TedeTal type is: 11mm; Tilt angle: >50.

3. Specimen holder: Used to fix the specimen, prevent curling and keep the specimen in vertical position. The sample holder consists of two U-shaped stainless steel plates with a thickness of 2.0 mm, an inner frame size of 356 mm, and a width of 89 mm.

4. Use gas: propane, butane, liquefied petroleum gas. 5. Weight (weight): With a hook, the weight can be hung on the lower side of the test sample side to determine the length of the damage. The weight is composed of 5 different qualities, and it is selected and used according to the quality of the sample body being tested. The quality is selected from the following table:

Fabric quality / (g, m-2)
Heavy hammer mass / g
101 following
54.5
101 to 207 following
113. 4
207 to 338 or less
226. 8
338~650 following
340.2
650 or more
453. 6

6. Control part: power switch, igniter start switch, sample ignition time setting meter, continued burning time meter, continuous burning time measurement stop switch, gas control valve and other components.

Second, prepare the sample 1. The pattern cut into a size of 300mm × 80mm, the long side of the fabric with the warp or weft parallel.

2. For each set of test samples, 10 samples, 5 warp samples and 5 weft samples are generally taken. The warp samples cannot be taken from the same warp and the weft samples cannot be taken from the same weft yarn.

3. Before the test, the sample should be placed in a standard atmosphere with a temperature (20±2)°C and a relative humidity of (65±2)% for 8 to 24 hours (depending on the thickness of the fabric, the thin fabric can be used for 8 hours, thick fabrics). Need 24h). Then take out the sealed container. Can also be dealt with according to the conditions agreed by the parties involved, such as at 105 °C, ventilation drying th above, in the dryer cooling 0,5 h and so on.

Third, the preparation before the experiment 1, ready for test specimens.

2, ready for test gas source.

3. Connect the air source to the instrument to ensure that there is no air leakage from the joint.

4. Connect the laboratory power supply and the instrument with the supplied power cord.

5. Place the textile sample in the sample holder and the lower edge of the sample should be flush with the lower end of the sample holder.

6, the test environment requirements: temperature of 10 ~ 30 °C and humidity of 30% ~ 80% RH in the atmosphere.

Fourth, test operation steps 1, open the gas source valve.

2. Close the front door of the combustion chamber and turn on the instrument (power switch "1" side), the power indicator light.

3. Press the “Reset” button to return the burner to the ignition position (if no response, the burner is already in the ignition position, please proceed to the next step).

4. Press and hold the “Ignition” button to light the burner (Note: Keep the “Ignition” button pressed during ignition). After ignition, release the "Ignition" button. If it is difficult to ignite, adjust the "Flame adjustment" button (reducing the combustible gas flow clockwise and increasing the combustible gas flow counterclockwise). Pay attention to adjust the air flow while holding down the "Ignition" button.

5. Open the front door of the combustion test box, place the flame height ruler (height 40mm) in front of the flame by hand, adjust the "flame adjustment" knob, and adjust the flame height to 40mm ± 2mm. After the flame is stabilized, remove the flame height ruler. Hang the specimen vertically with the specimen holder in the center of the box and close the door.

6. Click the "Start" button, the burner is moved to the sample suspension position (this time should be within 1 minute from the time the sample is taken out of the sealed container), and after 12 seconds (or 10 seconds), the burner is stopped. Gas and return to the "continuation time" automatically timed.

7. Observe the condition of the sample in the test chamber. At the same time when the continuous combustion is over, click on the “Continuous stop” button. If there is no continuous combustion, press the button “Continue stop” directly to automatically time the “smear time”. When the smoldering is over, press the “Smoke Stop” button once, then record the continued burning time and the smoldering time, and record the phenomenon that appears during the test.

8, open the front of the combustion chamber to remove the specimen clip, remove the specimen, and then select the weight according to the weight of the fabric per unit area to determine the length of the damage (first along the long direction of carbonization fold off, and then at the bottom of the sample On one side, about 6mm from the edge of the bottom, hang a weight equal to the mass per unit area of the sample with a hook, and slowly lift the other side of the lower end of the sample by hand, let the weight hang, and then lower, measure the sample The length of the disconnection is the length of the damage.).

9. Press the “CLEAR” button, the instrument will return to the initial state, open the test chamber door, remove the debris from the cabinet, open the ventilation equipment, exhaust the fumes and gases from the test chamber, and wait for the row to finish. Close the row. Wind equipment, this test ended.

10. If it is necessary to continue the test, the smoke, gas, and debris in the test chamber should be removed and the next sample tested. Repeat steps 3-9. If it is not needed, turn off the power (push "power switch" position "0"), then unplug the power cable, close the valve, and the test is completed.

11, continue burning, smoldering time should be recorded to 0.1s, damage length should be recorded to 1mm.

V. Test report 1. Record of sample: Including fabric type, name, organization specification, etc.

2, pretreatment conditions.

3. The duration of the ignition, the time of smoldering and the length of the demolition listed in the report shall be the average value of each sample, and the actual value of each sample shall be attached.

4. The continuous burning time and smoldering time should be accurately recorded to 0.1 s in the report. The damage length is accurate to 1 mm.

5, the test environment temperature and humidity.

6, test date and personnel.
