Feed formulation and raw material quality have a significant impact on the quality of pelleted feed. The formula contains energy feed, protein feed, mineral feed and additive premix, which are 60%~70%, 20%~25%, 3%~5% and 1%~2% respectively. Energy feed and protein feed are the main components and the main factors affecting the quality of pellet feed.
1 The diversity of raw materials
At present, in order to reduce costs, more and more alternative raw materials, such as wheat bran, rice bran, DDG, brewer's grains, corn protein powder, bacterial protein, yeast, rapeseed meal, cotton aphid, blood meal, meat (bone) powder, silkworm cocoon Powder and so on. Due to the large difference in the quality of these alternative raw materials, the ability of the raw materials to absorb steam is reduced, which is characterized by loose particles, no surface, poor hardness, and high chalking rate.
In order to improve the quality of the granules, it is often necessary to add a binding component such as wheat, sub-flour, or bentonite to the formulation. Depending on the conditions we use, adding the right amount of wheat or sub-flour is better, mainly because it is rich in gluten and soluble cellulose, which is easier to absorb steam and mature, thus improving the quality of the particles.
2 protein quality
The protein content determines the important factor of the quality of the particles. Under normal circumstances, when the protein content in the formula is high, it is easier to granulate and the quality of the particles is better, because the plasticity and viscosity increase after the protein is heated, so that the granulation yield is improved and the quality is good. . However, when the protein content in the formula is too high, the granulation effect is lowered. In 1999, our factory was forced to granulate and process 30% of the concentrate (excluding corn and flour). Its protein content is above 35%. Due to the low starch content in the formula, the crude fiber content is more than 12%, and the crude protein content is more than 35%. Therefore, its ability to absorb steam is seriously reduced, and the feed conditioning temperature is only 50-60 ° C. The quality has dropped significantly.
3 Cellulose Content
The crude fiber content in the feed should not exceed 10%, because the adhesion of the fiber itself is poor, resulting in a decrease in the binding force between the feed particles, and also affects the ability of the feed to absorb steam. Further, the hardness, formation rate, and yield of the feed pellet are lowered, and the wear of the granulating equipment is seriously increased.
4 fat content
When the proper amount of fat is added to the feed, the fluidity of the feed through the die hole is good, the frictional resistance is reduced, the feed is easy to form, and the ring die of the granulator is small in wear, low in energy consumption, and good in particle quality. However, the fat added to the feed is too high, and the quality of the pellets is rather decreased. Because the oil and fat can reduce the binding force between the feed particles, the particles are easily broken and the storage is difficult. When excess fat is required in the feed, it can be added by spraying after granulation.
5 Moisture content
Under normal circumstances, when the moisture before the quenching and tempering is lower than 12.5%, the ability to absorb steam is strong, the quenching temperature is high, and the pellet quality is good. According to many years of practice, the moisture content of the powdered feed after quenching and tempering is 15.5%~17%, and the effect is good. According to the general rule, the temperature of the powdered feed is increased by 10% when the temperature is increased by 10 °C, and the starch is gelatinized. The temperature is required to be 80 ° C. Therefore, the moisture before the starch feed is not too high, otherwise the ability to absorb steam decreases, the temperature of the powdered feed is lowered, the adhesion between the feed particles is reduced, and the quality of the particles is lowered.
In recent years, when new corn is marketed, it is difficult to add steam during the quenching and tempering. The granulation production has high power consumption, low productivity, poor hardness of feed pellets, and high chalking rate. In view of the above situation, we take the powdered feed temporarily in the granulation intermediate warehouse for 16~24 hours to make the mass transfer between the feed granules, and then granulate. After production inspection, it is found that the steam absorption capacity of the feed is increased, and the quenching and tempering temperature is basically Guaranteed above 70 °C.
6 The hygroscopicity of raw materials
When there is a hygroscopic material in the powdery feed, if the production preparation time is long, the fluidity of the powdery feed is seriously degraded, and at the same time, such feed has poor granulation performance and poor particle quality. For example, in the production of suckling pig feed, citric acid whey powder, milk replacer powder and other raw materials are added. Since these raw materials are easily viscous when exposed to air, and are easily coked at high temperature, it is particularly difficult to add steam during granulation. The temperature is low and the particle quality is poor. When producing such feeds, only the rapid steam production method can be used.
