1. Maintenance Platforms: Safety requirements for these platforms are extremely high, as many of them are used for high-altitude operations. To prevent the risk of steel grating falling from the platform, the installation of steel grating must be permanently fixed through welding. This ensures stability and reduces the chance of accidents caused by loose or unstable components.
2. To effectively prevent slipping and twisting, it is recommended to use twisted steel bars as crossbars or opt for composite steel gratings. These materials provide better grip and structural integrity, especially in environments where moisture or oil may be present.
3. The steel grating plates should be installed in accordance with the standard flat plate members of the steel structure. Once installed, they must not move laterally or detach from the support frame. The supporting length on both ends of the steel grating plate, which rests on the flat steel within the support frame, should be at least 25mm to ensure proper load distribution and stability.
4. For platforms that require movable or removable steel gratings, special mounting fixtures must be used to secure the grating in place. This prevents any unintended movement, ensuring the safety of workers who may be standing or walking on the platform.
5. The mounting clips can be provided by the manufacturer based on the buyer's specifications. In addition to stainless steel clips, those made from Q235 low carbon steel must undergo hot-dip galvanization for corrosion resistance. It is also recommended to use hot-dip galvanized bolts for the installation clips. The bolt diameter should be no less than 8mm, and each steel grating should have a minimum of four installation clamps to ensure secure fastening.
6. Regular inspections of the fastening condition of the steel grating are essential. Any signs of corrosion, loosening, or misalignment of the mounting clips should be addressed immediately to maintain the integrity and safety of the platform. This proactive maintenance helps prevent potential hazards and extends the lifespan of the structure.
