The first solar waste treatment station in Ninghai will be put into use in February

Recently, the first solar-waste treatment station in Qiantong Town of Ninghai will be completed and put into use in February to process the living garbage in Lianghuang Village to realize waste reduction, harmlessness, and resource recycling.

Since the implementation of the collection and treatment of rural household garbage, the model of “three households with households, group cleaning, village collection, and town clearance” has been widely promoted in Qiantong villages. However, due to the high ground and inconvenient transportation, the household garbage generated by nearly 100 households in Lianghuangshan and the waste generated during the tourists' visits are all disposed of on-site. According to the town’s staff, there are two natural villages in Liaochuang and Xishanli in Lianghuangshan, with a permanent population of more than 250 people. The Lianghuang Scenic Spot in the village has a large number of tourists and can reach thousands of people. Incineration and landfilling will affect the environment of villages and scenic spots. In October last year, Qiantong Town selected the site for the construction of the first solar waste treatment station in Lianghuangshan, and “digested” organic waste through solar energy.

It is understood that the use of solar energy sources for the harmless biological treatment of high-content organic wastes is expected to enable 60% of domestic waste to eventually form mature compost and become a “nutrition meal” for farmland and orchards. For garbage that cannot be used, it is sent to a dump site for centralized landfill. After the Lianghuangcun Solar Waste Disposal Station is put into use, it is expected that it will be able to dispose of 80 kg of organic waste every day. By then, it will greatly reduce the amount of waste transported and incinerated to improve the environment of the villages and scenic spots.
