Correctly wear and use labor protection products

1. Production and business entities are required to establish and continuously improve their systems for managing personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes strengthening control over the procurement, inspection, storage, distribution, replacement, and retirement of PPE. It is also essential to supervise and educate employees on the proper use and wearing of these items to ensure their effectiveness in safeguarding workers.

2. All protective equipment provided must meet national or industry standards. It is strictly prohibited to substitute PPE with cash or other items, as well as to purchase or use expired or substandard products. This ensures that PPE can perform its intended function during emergencies, offering real protection to workers.

3. When using labor protection articles, certain dangerous practices must be avoided to prevent accidents:

(1) Workers performing high-altitude tasks must always secure their safety harnesses properly to avoid falls.

(2) Employees engaged in electrical work or using hand-held power tools should wear insulated safety shoes to prevent electric shocks.

(3) In workshops or construction sites, it is important to wear appropriate uniforms—no skirts, casual clothes, or improperly worn attire. Open fronts or unfastened cuffs can lead to mechanical entanglement and serious injuries.

(4) Long-haired workers must ensure their hair is fully covered by a work cap to prevent it from getting caught in machinery.

(5) Gloves should be used correctly. Some workers may not wear them at all, increasing the risk of burns or punctures. Others may wear gloves unnecessarily, leading to hand or arm injuries due to improper handling of tools or equipment.

(6) Goggles and face masks must be worn promptly to protect the eyes and face from splashes, burns, or exposure to intense light, which could cause vision damage.

(7) Safety helmets must be worn correctly. If not secured properly, they may fail to protect the head during falling objects or impacts, leading to severe head injuries.

(8) Protective safety shoes must be worn according to regulations in the workplace to prevent foot injuries caused by heavy objects or sharp materials.
