The world's largest and hardest artificial diamond was successfully developed

Researchers at Ehime University and Sumitomo Electric Industries of Japan have announced that they have successfully developed the world's largest and hardest artificial diamond with a diameter of 4 mm, which is expected to be used in the field of hard metal processing. Previously the largest artificial diamond was only 1.5 mm in diameter.
This is a polycrystalline diamond made from a diamond of 10 to 30 nanometers in diameter. It is a faint syrupy color and is not as dazzling as a jewel. However, unlike single crystal diamonds which are easily broken in the direction of force, this artificial diamond can withstand forces from all directions up to twice the hardness of natural diamonds.
