Multiple coal producing provinces integrate coal resources

The relevant person in charge of the Comprehensive Division of the National Energy Administration recently disclosed that, following Shanxi and Henan, coal-producing provinces such as Shandong, Shaanxi, Guizhou, and Inner Mongolia have successively opened coal enterprise mergers, acquisitions, and integration of resources.

According to reports, at present, Shandong Province has established the Shandong Energy Group based on six coal companies, and the province’s coal industry has formed a new pattern featuring two major groups: Shandong Energy Group and Yankuang Group. According to the plan, before the end of June, coal enterprises in Shaanxi Province will be reduced from 522 before integration to less than 120, and the number of coal mines will be reduced to 450. By 2013, Guizhou plans to produce 5 million tons and above of coal output of the enterprise group to reach 60% of the province's total production; Inner Mongolia coal enterprises' minimum production scale will reach 1.2 million tons/year, and the number of enterprises will be controlled at 80-100.
